The Back Group was founded in 2016 through the partnership between chef David Olivas and maître d’ & sommelier Fabián Villar — two highly respected figures on the Costa del Sol, known for their careers, their friendship, and a shared ambition: creating their own restaurant.

That vision became reality with the opening of Back in 2016. What began as a gastro bar evolved into a bistro, then into a fine dining restaurant, eventually becoming one of the Michelin-starred restaurants in the province.

After spending several years developing their next concept and searching for the perfect location, June 2025 saw the opening of Enea Casa de Comidas, the group’s second restaurant, located on one of the most emblematic streets of Marbella’s Old Town.

Enea recreates the essence of the traditional Andalusian “casa de comidas” through the modern and elegant perspective of the Back Group. A lively tavern on the lower floor invites guests to share tapas and dishes in a relaxed atmosphere, while the upper terrace offers Andalusian-inspired cuisine elevated with the now-recognised signature touch of chef David Olivas.

Two different ways of expressing Olivas’ cuisine alongside Villar’s dining room experience and wine cellar expertise. Two concepts that make the Back Group a versatile hospitality brand deeply connected with its guests.
